Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero and Brooklyn bridge

Today began with the most amazing breakfast at Gemma's on Bowery Street. I had blueberry pancakes and Tom had a frittata with extra bacon and a whole teapot full of hot chocolate. They were probably the best pancakes I have ever had and Tom and I couldn't stop smiling just because the food was so good!

After breakfast we headed to Battery park to catch the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We climbed up to the pedestal in the Statue of Liberty, where there was a great view of Manhattan.

After this, we walked from Battery Park to the World Trade Centre and the 9/11 memorial. The memorials were beautiful and made you stop and think and remember those who lost their lives. It was really touching.

We then got the Metro to Brooklyn bridge, and walked back across into Manhattan. Great views! We explored the area and found the South Street Seaport outdoor mall. It was a lovely area with loads of individual food stalls! Tom and I shared the most amazing wood-fired oven cooked pepperoni pizza from a stall called Pizza Moto, which I would highly recommend!!!

We are both mega excited to see Taylor Swift tomorrow at the MetLife Stadium!
