Turning unsettled...

Image
Hey everyone! Hope you've had a great week enjoying this gorgeous, yet slightly unseasonal weather! With all these clear skies and light winds overnight, we've had plenty of chilly nights with lots of mist and fog around. I took this picture on Sunday morning, I love the way you can see the blue sky and clouds above the layer of fog: It then proceeded to be a lovely sunny day, which was particularly enjoyed by my dog Fleur. And it became quite an exciting week, with plenty of record-breaking weather. Monday saw the first time that 20C was recorded in the UK during the winter months and Tuesday proceeded to be even warmer! When I got up for yoga at 6am on Monday morning, it was light for the first time with a few mist and fog patches around once again. I spent the afternoon revising(sunbathing) at Toms house and it was glorious. Tuesday was definitely the best day. We had a picnic lunch outside between lectures and then bought ice creams! It was the

Forecast video!

Hey everyone! Hope you've been enjoying the glorious sunshine! We had a bit of a foggy start, but once it had cleared we had a lovely blue sky day. I took the doggos to Walberswick to see the sea. Now, I've got something a little different for you this weekend. I spent the afternoon outside filming a forecast video! Very basic and definitely not perfect, but I had fun creating it. It's so hard to remember forecast details off the top of my head, but I'm sure it'll become more natural with practice. I'd love to be able to get animated graphics but it's such a complex process. So for now I've used data I can access for free from the internet; Met Office pressure charts, satellite pictures from sat24.com and model screenshots from WeatherOnline. Hopefully soon I'll be able to use the data from work, which would look much better. Anyway, instead of the usual podcast, I hope you enjoy this forecast video for the week ahead in East Anglia!

Blue skies and sunshine

Hey everyone! I'm sure many of you were absolutely gutted that I didn't post on Sunday, I know my audience is clamouring for more ;) I was (once again) rather hungover and spent the day napping on the sofa at a lovely little family get-together. What a week it's been though! Would you just look at all these blue skies! Last Friday was lovely, I took these photos at uni: Sunday was also incredible, we had the doors open as it was so warm and we were all playing outside with the kids - it was wonderful! Here's a picture of Tom's sister Laura and our niece Amalie playing in the sunshine! Monday was a bit dull and less mild than recent days, but the weather soon picked back up! Tuesday had very nice clouds, I particularly liked this one: Wednesday was also glorious and felt so mild. And tonight we had this gem of a sunset: The sunshine really makes such a difference in people! It lifts everyones moods and makes everyone happy, parti

Sun, sun, sun!

Hey everyone! It's been such a glorious week. I wasn't looking forward to the milder weather because I feel like we're missing out on a proper winter, but I've LOVED the sunshine.  Monday was lovely, with blue skies and wispy cirrus clouds. Sadly I spent most of the day in the IT lab doing uni work, but this is a photo I took as I left uni. Another thing that's become so noticeable this week is that the days are getting longer!! I took this at 16:20! Even though it happens every year I love how people (myself included) are surprised when it starts to get lighter in the evenings. This morning was another gorgeous one. Beautifully crisp with a layer of mist making everything look magical. Today has turned out to be a gorgeous blue sky day, or a 'fried egg day' as the guys in my office say! It is actually warm. WARM outside. Crazy. I've just been outside with my doggos who love this weather. I didn't wear a coat and I was fine! Br

Spicing up the weekly forecast

Hi everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I went out with the guys from work over the weekend, hence the reason there was no podcast on Sunday, I had a bit of a sore head! To make up for my lack of podcast yesterday, I have uploaded an extra special version for you today, much against my better judgement. Introducing my boyfriend, Tom. I hope my zero listeners find it entertaining and informative. I'm trying to brainstorm new ideas to make my forecasts more interesting (not in the way I have done so above). I'd love to make videos but don't have much free time at the moment. Let me know if you have any ideas! If you cannot see the audio controls, your browser does not support the audio element

A windy weekend

Hey everyone! Hope you've had a great week. Sadly I've got no weather photos to share this week! We've had some nice days and some not so nice days, nothing spectacular though! As we head into the weekend it's gonna become quite windy. Met Éireann (the Irish national meteorological service) have just named a deep low pressure system to the west of the UK as Storm Erik, which will bring rain and windy conditions to much of the UK. For more details on this weekends forecast for East Anglia, have a listen to my weather podcast below. I hope you enjoy! Weather for the first week of February

Hey everyone! Hope you've had a fantastic weekend. I've really enjoyed a bit of winter sunshine this weekend and took the opportunity to head out on a couple of runs with Tom, who's training for an ultramarathon. It'll be feeling less cold as we head into this week, have a listen to my podcast for a weather outlook in East Anglia!
