October Favourites!

Image
Next month I'm gonna work really hard to actually do my favourites at the end of the month in question rather than half way through the next month... Anyhow... They're here now, heres what I loved in October! Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask - This stuff is amazing! I got this free from Boots at the student night in Intu Chapelfield and I love it so much! Its pretty darn good at clearing up any breakouts and makes my skin feel lovely and soft!! I also love the look of the black clay mask on my face, feels like I'm having a proper pamper session!! Collection Extreme 24hr Felt Tip Liner - I've tried so many types of liner pens this year trying to find the one for me and for now, this is the one!! Its such good value for money and the felt pen is really fine so great for precision! Its really highly pigmented and doesn't flake at all so I love it! Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara - After trying Benefits Rollerlash, I thought I'd never find a masc

This video marks the start of a new series I'm thinking of doing, which is basically tutorials for really short nails! I and a lot of my friends used to (and some still do) have very short nails, and I found the internet a little bit lacking for designs for tiny tiny nails, so I thought I'd fill the gap! Hope everyone enjoys it!! Zoë x

September Favourites

Image
Now, it wouldn't be a true Dots Above The E monthly favourites if it wasn't several weeks late would it?! At least that's what I keep telling myself! The truth is I've been so busy (as I'm sure I keep saying!) and I didn't really have many favourites in September, so I didn't feel particularly motivated to write about them! However, I have finally gotten round to it, so here are my September Beauty Favourites!! Fleur De Force by Eylure - Fleur Loves Lashes - I am not usually a big wearer of false eyelashes as I've never been very good at putting them on and sometimes I think they can be a bit overkill. HOWEVER. These beauties have completely changed the way I look at false eyelashes! I was so surprised at how easy they were to apply, which I think is probably to do with the fact that they are a lot better quality than cheaper ones I've used before. These look absolutely amazing when they're on, nicely subtle and just so gorgeous! I love

Things to do in and around Pembrokeshire, Wales

Image
Whoa, its been a crazy few weeks! If you didn't already know, I have recently moved out and started uni life at the University of East Anglia, so it's been pretty hectic in my life; with freshers week, meeting loads of new people and beginning my degree! However, while I am loving every second of it, I have unfortunately been neglecting my poor little blog and promising posts to you which have never appeared... sorry! Things have now calmed down a bit and I am establishing a nice routine in my day to keep organised and stop myself from going insane!!! So here it is, the long awaited blog post on my holiday in Pembrokeshire, Wales! From August 29th to September 5th I went on an annual family holiday to Pembrokeshire in Wales. The fam, my boyfriend and my brothers best friend stayed in a little fishing village called Solva (Solfach in Welsh!), which is so cute, and I think is my favourite place in Wales that I have been so far. We stayed in a gorgeous cottage called Tan y Craig

Here is my latest nail art tutorial showing you how to create an autumnal look! Still in the process of writing my next post on my holiday in Wales, which is taking longer than I'd like as I've just left home and gone to uni so things are absolutely crazy at the moment! Nevertheless, it'll be up soon so keep checking! Zoë x

August Favourites

Image
Today I finally got round to doing my August Favourites... better late than never hey?! I can't believe it's September already but I am super excited because its getting closer to CHRISTMAS!!! Anyway, here is what I loved in August! Measuring Spoons - I am in love these super cute heart-shaped measuring spoons for baking! There were a really thoughtful gift from Toms Parents after I got into uni - Thank you!!! I've used them non-stop since I got them!! Max Factor Mastertouch Concealer - This is a rediscovery for me as it was one of the first concealers I ever used. It is a good all-rounder and I use it under my eyes and down the bridge of my nose as it is nice and brightening. I love its consistency and it is perfect for my skin tone! Essie Flowerista - I bought recently while I was in the US as I've wanted a shade like this for ages. As always with Essie, I love the formulation of the nail polish, and I just absolutely adore the colour, I feel like it is a rea

Small changes!

Image
It's now been almost a week since I've got back and I have only just fully recovered from my jet lag! It's been a wonderful week being reunited with friends, family and my lovely dogs, and I've also started making a few changes to myself and the blog!! Change Number One: New hair!! Almost the first day home I went to the hairdressers and made a spur of the moment decision to get my hair cut short! I had gotten so sick of it during our travels so I was definitely ready for the change! However it really shocked my family as I've had long hair forever and they never expected me to actually go through with it! And here it is! I am very happy with it, it's a lot easier to manage now! Change Number Two: New blog name! I also have decided to change the name of my blog from zoenailust to 'Dots Above The E', as I'm not just writing about nails anymore and I wanted a new name that could include everything I wanted to blog about and that would be s

American Dinner Party!

Image
Hello everyone! Tom and I are officially settled back into UK life! To celebrate our return we held a dinner party for both of our families. We decided on a menu that would give everyone a taste of the USA! We chose typically American dishes and made everything in miniature! Here is the menu! Appetizers: Chips n dips Entrées: Deep dish pizzas Hot Dogs Soft Tacos Burgers Philly Cheesesteaks Served with salad and fries! Desserts: Strawberry cheesecake Blueberry pancakes Brownies It was a super fun night, we all ate far too much, which is always good!! We also gave our families the gifts we had brought back with us which was lovely. :) Here are a few photos of what we made (though not everything, as my camera died halfway through the evening!) USA Video Edit!

First video on my Youtube account is a video edit made by Tom and I (mostly Tom!) of our recent trip to America! Zoë x

Bye bye USA, hello UK!!!!!

On Tuesday 18th July Tom and I began a series of journeys that would take us back home! Our first flight from San Francisco to Seattle was late afternoon, which meant we could actually sleep in!! After we had woken up and finished packing our bags we went back to the Westfield Mall for breakfast, as Tom was jealous of the crepe I'd had yesterday!! We then went back to our hotel and waited for our shuttle to the airport!  When we got to San Francisco airport we were sent on a wild goose chase to find the right place to check in, each person seemed to point us in a different direction!!! We were then put on an earlier flight to Seattle, which was good as we would then have more time to spare before our next flight!! The airplane taking us to Seattle was tiny and we were there in about 2 hours! There were some amazing views throughout the short journey, we even think we saw Mount St Helens! When we landed in Seattle we had a lot of time to kill before our n
