Little Italy, Central Park and the Top of the Rock

Yesterday, after waiting for it to get dark so we could go to the top of the rock at nighttime, we got back pretty late so just went straight to bed!

We started off the day getting the Metro to Little Italy to grab a slice of pizza from what is considered the best pizzeria in Little Italy - Prince Street Pizza! We both had pepperoni squares, and the most interesting thing about them is that the tomato sauce is on top of the cheese and other toppings! The pizza was so so good, they had put tons of mozzarella on it so I was a big fan!

After finishing our pizza we walked through Little Italy some more to find somewhere to get ice cream! We found a place called Ferraros, which had such a variety of flavours it was hard to choose! In the end I went for good old chocolate and Tom had cookies and cream.

After lunch we headed to Central Park to chill for the rest of the day, we sat and read our books for about an hour and then walked to one of the lakes and went boating! It was such a lovely thing to do  on a hot day!

We then went a couple blocks out from Central Park in search of sandwiches! We found a deli called E.A.T. whose sandwiches were amazing (if a little on the pricey side!).

We ate our sandwiches in the park and read some more as we waited for the sun to set so we could go up to the top of the Rockefeller building. At about 8:30 pm the sun had set so we went up! The views were phenomenal, the city looks so amazing all lit up at nighttime. We stood up there for an hour taking pictures and just staring at the view!

Got back at about 11pm as the Metro back to our hotel takes a while, but it was definitely worth staying up to see New York City in the dark!
