Bye bye Denver, hello Salt Lake City!

Today we got up super early to get the train to Salt Lake City, where we then get the bus to Yellowstone! We were at the station by 6:45am, so decided to get some breakfast at Snooze, where we ate after we came in from Omaha! I got another amazing latte and the Snooze Continental, which featured yogurt with granola, a grapefruit brûlée and toast, and Tom got scrambled eggs with hash browns and toast! Just what we needed! 




Then we got on to our 15 hour train!!! We read our books, listened to music, played monopoly (I won), and watched the stunning scenery go by!! It is definitely the most beautiful train journey I've ever been on!! 




For dinner, we made reservations at the dining car on the train! I had a vegetable ravioli and Tom had herb roasted chicken, which we ate whilst speeding through Utah watching the sun set! We also had strawberry cheesecake for dessert! 






We're still on the train as I write this and I hope I can post it when we get to the hotel. We're up early again tomorrow to catch our bus to Yellowstone!!

Worst Lecture Ever!

Friday began at 11, with a Meteorology lecture that I was (as always) late to. However I only missed a bit of recap so it was all good. During the lecture we learnt about the First Law of Thermodynamics, and there was a lot of maths involved. I still managed to follow it all though which was nice. After the lecture I rushed back home quick as my lil legs could carry me! I had a couple hours break and wanted to make the house look nice for when Tom arrived that evening. I literally spent the whole of my break tidying the kitchen and it didn't look like I'd even touched it, it was so messy. At 2 I headed back into uni for two super fun hours of maths! DC duck tour!!

Today we got up fairly early and went for the hotel breakfast. I had fruit loops, which were super weird and Tom had dodgy doughnuts!!  We went into the city and our first stop was Obama's place! Obviously Barack didn't get the memo that we were in town so sadly missed out on meeting us.  After seeing the White House we walked to Union station, with a bit of retail therapy and lunch on the way! I got a pretty top from Forever 21! We had lunch in Pret, I had a California club sandwich and Tom had a New York Meatball wrap!!  We got to the station and boarded our vessel for the DC duck tour! The captain was called Captain Bucky and he was hilarious, he told us a funny joke to do with porridge when we told him we were from Norwich!! The tour was awesome, a really great way to see all of DC's monuments and memorials and learn things about them in the process! There is definitely an added excitement when you get on to the water, although it was a bit scary when Captain Bucky let
