Bye bye Chicago, hello Omaha!

Due to a wifi-less train we were unable to post yesterday's blog, but never fear, it is here! 

We woke pretty early as I had booked an architectural river tour for Tom as a present to celebrate being together for two years! We walked down to the dock and got good seats on the top deck of the boat! The tour was really cool! The guide was very friendly and knowledgable. I loved learning about all the considerations that are made when designing a building, and the river was a great place to see all the buildings from!


When the tour finished we went back to the hostel to pack our bags and leave for the station. We were there early and waited for the train as normal, but then they announced the train was delayed, and they didn't know how long for. We waited four hours!!! It was a nightmare! Instead of getting into Omaha at 11pm we got there at 3:30am, completely shattered! I sincerely hope that none of our other trains are delayed that much! 

We move on again today, to Denver, and probably won't be able to post as trains do not have wifi 'in rural areas'. :(

DC duck tour!!

Today we got up fairly early and went for the hotel breakfast. I had fruit loops, which were super weird and Tom had dodgy doughnuts!!  We went into the city and our first stop was Obama's place! Obviously Barack didn't get the memo that we were in town so sadly missed out on meeting us.  After seeing the White House we walked to Union station, with a bit of retail therapy and lunch on the way! I got a pretty top from Forever 21! We had lunch in Pret, I had a California club sandwich and Tom had a New York Meatball wrap!!  We got to the station and boarded our vessel for the DC duck tour! The captain was called Captain Bucky and he was hilarious, he told us a funny joke to do with porridge when we told him we were from Norwich!! The tour was awesome, a really great way to see all of DC's monuments and memorials and learn things about them in the process! There is definitely an added excitement when you get on to the water, although it was a bit scary when Captain Bucky let

Finished my degree!

Hey everyone, it's been a while! My last exam was on 4th June and I have now finished uni, which is mad. I'm starting full-time at Weatherquest on 1st July, so am making the most of my free time before then. Sadly it's not as fun as it sounds, I've been doing life admin, cleaning and organising! Since I wrote my last blog post in early May, life has been mostly revision, but I'm gonna post some pictures of my favourite moments. Below is Elin and I having our first snakebites in the SU bar after an exam (only 4 years late!). During the middle of May, Tom and I ran the Pretty Muddy Race for Life, in aid of Cancer Research. Tom filmed the whole thing, you can watch it here ! For Elin, Mollie and I's birthdays we went to Haggle, a Turkish restaurant in Norwich. It was awesome and so lovely to dress up. We then went to my last ever (probably) Damn Good LCR night!!  Then it was my birthday (mid-exams) so I took the day off and went to the beach.
