Bye bye New York, hello Boston!!

Today we woke up early to travel to Penn Station where we got the train to Boston! It was only a four hour journey so nothing compared to some of the other journeys we will be making! 

We got into Boston at around 3 pm and checked in to the hostel we are staying at. The hostel is really nice and our room is pretty cool! We went straight out to explore Boston and walked through the park to the river. There are loads of cute restaurants and boutiques and there was a music festival in the park! 

We had dinner at a place called Picco, which is an Italian restaurant. Tom and I both had the most amazing calzones followed by rich chocolatey ice cream sundaes! It was a really great meal and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere so I would definitely recommend it!!




Tom and I are pretty excited as we are going whale watching tomorrow, a wonderful gift from Kev and Linda, and we can't wait!!!

Worst Lecture Ever!

Friday began at 11, with a Meteorology lecture that I was (as always) late to. However I only missed a bit of recap so it was all good. During the lecture we learnt about the First Law of Thermodynamics, and there was a lot of maths involved. I still managed to follow it all though which was nice. After the lecture I rushed back home quick as my lil legs could carry me! I had a couple hours break and wanted to make the house look nice for when Tom arrived that evening. DC duck tour!!

Today we got up fairly early and went for the hotel breakfast. I had fruit loops, which were super weird and Tom had dodgy doughnuts!!  We went into the city and our first stop was Obama's place! Obviously Barack didn't get the memo that we were in town so sadly missed out on meeting us.  After seeing the White House we walked to Union station, with a bit of retail therapy and lunch on the way! I got a pretty top from Forever 21! We had lunch in Pret, I had a California club sandwich and Tom had a New York Meatball wrap!!  We got to the station and boarded our vessel for the DC duck tour! The captain was called Captain Bucky and he was hilarious, he told us a funny joke to do with porridge when we told him we were from Norwich!! The tour was awesome, a really great way to see all of DC's monuments and memorials and learn things about them in the process! There is definitely an added excitement when you get on to the water, although it was a bit scary when Captain Bucky let
