Bye bye Omaha, hello Denver!

Today we had a nice lie in which we totally deserved after the train journey of nightmares! We packed up our bags and got a taxi to the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, which is ranked by trip advisor as the best zoo in the world!

It was huge and had the most amazing enclosures. There was an indoor rainforest and a desert dome! In the rainforest there were several trails you could walk around and see all the different animals, it was so nice to see them in such an interesting space. The desert dome was similar to the Eden project, where the climate is created inside to house many different desert plants and animals.

There was also a 'big cat complex' which was amazing, and they seemed to have every sort of cat there, even a white tiger! We also got to see the Amur leopard training session which was really interesting, some of the techniques they use are even similar to how Mum and I are training Lyra back at home!

Tom liked the tapiers and got some really good photos of the jellyfish in the aquarium. There were also lots of bears including polar bears again! The monkeys and gorillas were lovely too, there was a very cute baby monkey that kept getting into mischief!

After the zoo we got a taxi to The Old Market, where there were tons of restaurants! We found a place called Stokes and both ordered steak as that is what Omaha is famous for! It was absolutely amazing, we both agreed it was one of the best steaks we've ever had! Also came with mash and veg, which we have both been missing a lot!!
We also decided to get dessert, and I got a creme brûlée and Tom got a massive brownie with ice cream, that I had to help him finish!

After dinner we headed to the station to catch our train to Denver, which was actually on time!! We were so happy!!!
