Guest Post: Chicago Architecture Tour!

Hello everyone, Tom here doing a guest post! The reason I'm doing this is because Zoë surprised me with an Architecture river cruise of Chicago, so I thought I'd tell you how it went :)

So we set off at 9:00am for our 90 minute tour of Chicago. Our volunteers guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out all the different buildings as we went past, including their styles, dates and who designed them. There were many photo stops and they encouraged everyone to move around to get the best shot :)

We really liked hearing about all the design elements that were considered for the building such as curves and green tinted glass to echo the river, or offsetting the building by 45 degrees to maximise rooms with a river view. It was also nice to hear about Chicagos history and how that has affected it's architecture.

We really enjoyed this trip and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is visiting Chicago!

Thank you Zoë!!!

Tom :)
