Getting a bit sick of trains...

We arrived into Denver this morning at 6 am after a restless night on the train. Nothing was open and we couldn't check in to our hotel so we just waited in the station. 

As soon as the restaurants opened we went for breakfast in a place called Snooze. It was a really amazing place with awesome music on in the background, with the likes of Alt-j, Arctic  Monkeys and Radical Face being played! I ordered a latte and it was so beautiful and tasted great!! Tom had Strawberry Shortcake pancakes and I had 'The Banana Nutella Situation'. Both very good! 




After breakfast things took a turn slightly downhill and I started to feel ill :( I think my body has decided it is sick of trains! After hanging around the station some more we got a taxi to our hotel - 11th Avenue Hotel. When they saw I was ill they did everything they could for us and were really nice! They let us check in at 10am even though check in was meant to be at 2pm!!! For a while we just dozed in the room until I felt better.

We then went out into Denver to do some shopping! We got some awesome gifts for some people! The views in Denver are lovely, with the mountains in the distance, that unfortunately the camera couldn't capture, but here are some nice photos of the park!! 



Now just chilling at the hotel watching Netflix and doing our washing!!

DC duck tour!!

Today we got up fairly early and went for the hotel breakfast. I had fruit loops, which were super weird and Tom had dodgy doughnuts!!  We went into the city and our first stop was Obama's place! Obviously Barack didn't get the memo that we were in town so sadly missed out on meeting us.  After seeing the White House we walked to Union station, with a bit of retail therapy and lunch on the way! I got a pretty top from Forever 21! We had lunch in Pret, I had a California club sandwich and Tom had a New York Meatball wrap!!  We got to the station and boarded our vessel for the DC duck tour! The captain was called Captain Bucky and he was hilarious, he told us a funny joke to do with porridge when we told him we were from Norwich!! The tour was awesome, a really great way to see all of DC's monuments and memorials and learn things about them in the process! There is definitely an added excitement when you get on to the water, although it was a bit scary when Captain Bucky let

Finished my degree!

Hey everyone, it's been a while! My last exam was on 4th June and I have now finished uni, which is mad. I'm starting full-time at Weatherquest on 1st July, so am making the most of my free time before then. Sadly it's not as fun as it sounds, I've been doing life admin, cleaning and organising! Since I wrote my last blog post in early May, life has been mostly revision, but I'm gonna post some pictures of my favourite moments. Below is Elin and I having our first snakebites in the SU bar after an exam (only 4 years late!). During the middle of May, Tom and I ran the Pretty Muddy Race for Life, in aid of Cancer Research. Tom filmed the whole thing, you can watch it here ! For Elin, Mollie and I's birthdays we went to Haggle, a Turkish restaurant in Norwich. It was awesome and so lovely to dress up. We then went to my last ever (probably) Damn Good LCR night!!  Then it was my birthday (mid-exams) so I took the day off and went to the beach.
