The driest city in the U.S...

Today we slept in and had a lazy morning sunbathing and swimming!! Then had a quick lunch from the hotel bar and waited for our tour to start at 1 pm!! These are the 'crispy taquitos' we shared for lunch!

We were picked up from our hotel in an amazing neon pink jeep and driven out to the Red Rock Canyons! There were absolutely amazing rock formations and the colour of the rock is so vibrant due to the presence of iron!! Our tour guide Bob Hall was really great and even let us pretend we were driving the jeep!!

As we drove the tour guide chatted to us about Vegas and its history, and mentioned that it is the driest city in the U.S. and gets only 2-3 inches of rain per year!! After serval photo stops and some exploring the skies started to grow very dark and we felt a few drops of rain. This quickly turned into a fully blown thunderstorm with lightning and torrential rain; I don't think our tour guide could quite believe it!! We were even being sent government warnings to our phones about flash flooding in the area!!

However we continued the tour which was still amazing!! We saw amazing ancient handprints on the rock walls and the caves that people had lived in!

We also saw some burros which are like donkeys and are so so cute!!

We both really enjoyed the tour, so thank you Fee, Ed, Annie, Mole, Flynn and Isla for this amazing experience!!! We then headed back into Vegas where there was now a full storm!!! The roads were like rivers it was unbelievable!!

After we had been dropped at our hotel we then got a shuttle bus to The Strip! We decided to get dinner at The Cheesecake Factory as another celebration of our results, we still can't believe them!!! I got a Bacon-Bacon Cheeseburger and Tom had Orange Chicken with rice! The portions were so big but we do like a good challenge!!  We also got a slice of cheesecake each to
take back to the hotel for breakfast!! I got Smores and Tom got Oreo!

After dinner we decided to go and watch the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel, but after 15 minutes standing in the torrential rain we were told it was cancelled! :( So instead we walked along the strip all lit up in the rain, which was still really beautiful! :)

Tomorrow is a very early start as we go to the Grand Canyon!!!
