Close up with Koda!

Due to temperamental wifi I've only just been able to upload this post about our adventures yesterday!

We woke up pretty early and went straight to the hostel cafe for breakfast! I had scrambled eggs with avocado and tomato and Tom had scrambled eggs with bacon and hash browns! ( You can blame the out of focus picture on Tom! 😉 )

We then got the bus into Yosemite and went on a hike from Curry Village to Mirror Lake. Even though it was still pretty early there were loads of people about! The lake was really beautiful and we had a nice paddle in the fairly chilly waters to cool down!!

As we walked back to Curry Village we spotted a black bear cub climbing on a fallen log about 10m from the path! It was so so cute and reminded us a lot of Koda from Brother Bear!! We were one of the first people to spot it but very quickly a massive crowd formed around us!!

After our amazing encounter we walked back and got lunch at the Pizza Place! We shared an amazing pepperoni pizza, it was huge!

We then hiked another trail to Vernal Falls, which was uphill all the way and super tiring, especially in the heat!! We were rewarded with beautiful views of the valley so it was worth it. Tom and I did some more paddling as we headed back down, the water was SO cold!!

We then got the bus back to our hostel so we could pack our bags and use the washing machines, which was very exciting considering we've been washing our clothes in the sink for the last five weeks!!

We went down to the Yosemite Bug cafe again for dinner, our third hot meal of the day!!! Realised this is the first day of the holiday we've actually had three proper hot meals! I had pesto pasta and Tom had plum glazed pork chop! We also got desserts and took them back to our tent cabin, I had pecan pie and Tom had chocolate pudding pie!!

Tomorrow we embark on another series of bus journeys, hooray!!!
