Blog Resurrection

Hey everyone! It's been a long time since I posted or even looked at this blog, thus I spent some 'happy' hours over the weekend reminiscing and cringing over my past self. Slightly embarrassing that I wasn't sure I could even remember how to use Blogger!

However, I've decided to resurrect this blog to create a platform on which I can share blog posts and podcasts about the weather. My last (very cringey) blog post from 2017 talks about my first go at presenting the weather, getting an internship at the Met Office and writing forecasts for local newspapers. Since then, my time at the Met Office has been and gone, I've taken a year in industry, working as a wind farm development engineer and am now in my final year of uni, working part-time with a local forecasting company, Weatherquest, which I love. I have also had a couple more attempts at presenting the weather, though I can't say I've gotten much better!!

Therefore, the purpose of this blog will be to gain confidence in chatting about the weather, which I hope to achieve by sharing my chatty forecasts with you. I hope you enjoy them and find them reasonably useful!

DC duck tour!!

Today we got up fairly early and went for the hotel breakfast. I had fruit loops, which were super weird and Tom had dodgy doughnuts!!  We went into the city and our first stop was Obama's place! Obviously Barack didn't get the memo that we were in town so sadly missed out on meeting us.  After seeing the White House we walked to Union station, with a bit of retail therapy and lunch on the way! I got a pretty top from Forever 21! We had lunch in Pret, I had a California club sandwich and Tom had a New York Meatball wrap!!  We got to the station and boarded our vessel for the DC duck tour! The captain was called Captain Bucky and he was hilarious, he told us a funny joke to do with porridge when we told him we were from Norwich!! The tour was awesome, a really great way to see all of DC's monuments and memorials and learn things about them in the process! Green Screen Laughs, Mum & Dad's Silver Anniversary & Jim Bacon's Retirement!

Hey everyone! Goodness me it's been a while! It's that time of year where revision really starts to spoil things!! Sadly, it leaves me very little time to make my weather forecast videos, so I'm gonna have to put them on hold until my exams are over in June. Aside from revision, I've managed to fit in some pretty awesome things over the last few weeks! Firstly, I have to show you this awesome sunset from the other week! Such vibrant colours! It's things like this that I love most about the weather. Last Friday I got to have a play around with the green screen at work, as we're developing an exciting new product for our customers! We had such a laugh! It was great to have a proper go and I think I'm definitely getting better. At least it's not painful to watch anymore!! I love working with such an awesome group of people!!
