Bye bye Los Angeles, hello Las Vegas!! Feat. A level results!!!

Image
Yesterday was such a good day but after waiting up feeling nervous until midnight for our A level results I had no time to post this!!  We woke up early and got the bus to Vegas!!! As we drive into the city we saw some pretty crazy buildings!!  We then went out to explore The Strip and do some shopping! I got some new shoes for dinner!!  After shopping and sightseeing we headed back to our hotel to get ready for our meal out at the Stratosphere Top of the World restaurant, which was a birthday present from my parents!! It is the most amazing revolving restaurant which gives you spectacular views of Vegas as the sun sets!!  Although we were feeling pretty nervous we still had an amazing meal and didn't let the nerves spoil it!! I had Prawn and Lobster Cocktail for my starter and Tom had Pork Belly with Chimichurri! They were so amazing!  Next I had the Center Cut Filet Steak with Gratin potatoes and Tom had Seafood Linguine! Both amazing!! It was during this cour...

Woke up on the bus this morning which was hideous!! Swapped onto a train at 6:30 am and then got into LA by 9:30 am!! Dumped our bags at our hostel and headed out into sunny LA!! Our first port of call was the building they use as the apartment block in New Girl!! It's so much fun to find buildings like this and the Friends house!!  We then got the Metro into Hollywood to do the Walk of Fame! We couldn't believe how many people had their names on it and how many we had never heard of!! Here are a few that we thought were worth a picture!  We then headed to the TCL Chinese Theatre to see the celebrity hand prints, which were pretty cool!  Then we got lunch at Johnny Rocketa which was amazing! I had a chicken sandwich burger and Tom had the Smokehouse burger!! He says it was one of the best burgers he's ever had! We then did a bit of shopping before getting ice cream at Cold Stone. Tom wanted to go there as they had done amazing tricks with the ice cream when he went in Dub...

We got the bus into Yosemite and did some gift shopping before jumping on the bus back to San Francisco!  We have just arrived in San Francisco and are now waiting to board another bus that will take us overnight to Los Angeles!  Sorry it's been a bit of a boring day, just thought I'd keep you all updated!! Close up with Koda!

Due to temperamental wifi I've only just been able to upload this post about our adventures yesterday!  We woke up pretty early and went straight to the hostel cafe for breakfast! I had scrambled eggs with avocado and tomato and Tom had scrambled eggs with bacon and hash browns! ( You can blame the out of focus picture on Tom! 😉 ) We then got the bus into Yosemite and went on a hike from Curry Village to Mirror Lake. Even though it was still pretty early there were loads of people about! The lake was really beautiful and we had a nice paddle in the fairly chilly waters to cool down!!  As we walked back to Curry Village we spotted a black bear cub climbing on a fallen log about 10m from the path! It was so so cute and reminded us a lot of Koda from Brother Bear!! We were one of the first people to spot it but very quickly a massive crowd formed around us!!  After our amazing encounter we walked back and got lunch at the Pizza Place! We shared an amazing pepperoni pizza, i...

Yosemite Valley tour and an intense hike!

This morning we caught up on much needed sleep! Slept in til 9 am then had breakfast at the Yosemite Bug cafe! Tom and I both had blueberry buckwheat pancakes with fruit which were so so good!!!  Then we got the bus into Yosemite valley for a tour that we'd booked!! Our tour guide was really knowledgeable and pretty hilarious! The tour was on an open air 'tram', and Tom and I had our selfie stick out at every opportunity!! We got some beautiful photos as it was a gorgeous day.  After the tour we had two hours until one of the last buses back, so we set ourselves a challenge to climb up to Columbia Rock on the Upoer Yosemite Falls trail. It was pretty steep and we were going fairly fast so it was very intense!! After 45 minutes we got to the Columbia Rock, which was an amazing viewpoint over the whole valley and of half dome!!  We then legged it back down in under 25 minutes so had time to go to the gift shop; I even bought a few Christmas presents!!    Then got ...
